Victor Cruz Has A Message For The Gmen Mafia
LET'S GET IT. You heard the man, training camp is just 48 hours away and your boy Vic is ready to go. With his last two seasons being lost to a brutal knee injury suffered in 2014, and a calf injury last year, it has undoubtedly been a tough road for Victor Cruz. Since hoisting the Lombardi trophy in February of 2012, things haven't exactly been great for the Giants, or Cruz.
A few months back, the front office had to sit down and have a tough conversation with the UMass alum. They basically told him to take a paycut or walk.
Growing up in Paterson, NJ, just 20 minutes from MetLife Stadium, Cruz holds a true loyalty to Big Blue. The 29-year old showed that loyalty by taking a salary cut from the team, and vowing to help them return to their Super Bowl winning days.
The diehard fan in me loves the attitude that Cruz is putting fourth, and I think it shows his leadership qualities. We have yet to see the electrifying Odell Beckham along side Cruz, and I expect these two to be on full display Week 1 against the Cowboys. Not to mention rookie Sterling Shepard brings yet another headache for opposing secondaries, and adds another weapon to the arsenal for Eli.
Let's hope Cruz can stay healthy during Camp and make this comeback we all know he's capable of making.
LET'S GO BIG BLUE!
