Hot Yanks Head to Arizona

After taking three of four from the defending champion Royals, the Yankees were able to take two of three from the surprising White Sox. They have now won three straight series' in a row and seem to be finding their stride. Due to their incredibly slow start, they are still just 16-20. However, things are looking up believe it or not.

Luis Severino has been nothing short of brutal thus far if we're being honest. With a 7.45 ERA he has been a disappointment, and his trip to the 15-day DL will hopefully give him a break. The bats have been consistent the past several games, as Chase Headley and Carlos Beltran have been producing. Getting Alex Rodriguez back in the lineup is something the team will look forward to, although they have really been playing better without him as of late.

Tonight they face the 17-23 Diamondbacks who will throw left-hander Robbie Ray (1-2, 4.84). The Yankees will start their new call-up Chad Green, a right-hander out of Louisville. In 37IP at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Green allowed just 5 earned runs, and racked up 36 strikeouts. With the inconsistency and now injury with Severino, the Yankees hope Green can stabilize a rotation who just lost CC Sabathia. I'm anxious to see how Green fares on the mound tonight, especially his first big league start on the road and on the west coast no less. The Yankee lineup will face a lefty in Ray tonight, and they have been ineffective against lefties this year, batting just .237 as a team.

Right now, the Yankees are hot and it'd be great to see this 24-year old kid Green toss a gem tonight. This could potentially be the kickstart this team needs to get on a real hot streak and give the Red Sox and Baltimore a run for their money.

First pitch at 9:40 tonight.
